BIO
I was born 1979 in Pardubice, Czech Republic. I was always interested in drawing, but I havenīt developed this hobby in my childhood. Later, I started studium on chemical industry school. It was an unhappy decision, because this school havenīt developed my abilities and interests. After short experience in chemical industry I left this branch definitively and I turned to graphic. I spended long time with self-education in domain of graphics, painting, design and other creating methods. I alternated few job places in DTP, but non of them gave me chances fully using my creativity and developing this. At the present I am living double life between Prague, where is my full-week job and city of Pardubice, where I make my artworks only in two days in weekend.
For creating I am using a row of art techniques, at the beginning I used airbrush, under influence of H.R. Giger works, latterly classical acryl painting by brushes, but I am also doing computer photomanipulation adjusted by tablet, where I am using a digital still camera. I am creating sculptures too, where I am using plaster, special modeling substance and other materials, in last time plasticine and preparations for making elastic moulds for casting. By this techniques I am creating different artworks airbrush and acrylics paintings inspired by mezoamerican mythology, machines and cyberpunk, digital photomanipulation put together from different pieces of photos, or sculptures of demonīs heads from cybernetic realm. Besides this I am working on ilustrations for covers of sci-fi and fantasy books, I making logotypes or covers of musical albums. I am drawing concept art for game developers and I am cooperating with 3D modeler on transfering my visions to 3D for ultra-realistic large format prints. Interesting is a creating of limited T-shirts series with print according to my designs or vision of flat-decoration designs under influence of F.L. Wright.
In my works is very strong theme the cyberpunk, I am interested in fusion of mechanics, computers and human body, not only on level of person, but even of society. Cyborgs always fascinated me, more than robots, androids or biots, it is not one and the same, cyborg is having specific form of humanity from his holder on difference with other futuristic entites. Because of it I admire work of people as Stelarc, Bruce Sterling or Kevin Warwick.
I am looking for inspiration in many things works of other artists, industrial enviroments (factories, drains, machines, lost buildings...), huge photo archives in my computer which is exciting my brain for creation process. Books are inspiration too, from cyberpunk or horror authors, for example Neal Stephenson or Clive Barker. I am finding big inspiration in art of mezoamerican civilizations, mainly Mayan. Music is not direct inspiration for me, but without music I can not work, because silence dezorientate me. I am mainly listening electronic music, ambient, lo-fi and many other styles.
